La Strada Contracting was established in July of 1999 by Rudy Ruiz and Leonard Ruffalo. The company primarily focused on the private home builder sector installing millions of dollars worth of street improvements for some of the top builders in the Southern California area. In 2005 Leonard Ruffalo retired and sold his interest to Steve Stein. Steve Stein was successful for many years in the pipeline sector with his company, Bova Contracting. The plan with this partnership was to provide the home builder developers with a complete package of sewer, water, storm drain, curb & gutter and street paving. Although we did do some packages and work very close together with some developers the plan never came to complete fruition. Market conditions and some logistical issue regarding running joint work with two separate corporations proved difficult. In 2008 Steve Stein decided to close Bova Contracting and retire. In 2009 he sold his interest in La Strada Contracting to Rudy Ruiz.
